Sanigen (CEO Park Jeong-woong) will be holding the '2023 Agri & Food Tech Start-up Rising Expo 2023' held at COEX Hall A in Seoul for three days from Wednesday, July 26th to Friday, July 28th. He announced that he would participate in '.

Established in 2005, Senigen is a Food Safety Total Solution Provider that develops and services solutions for the manufacturing, distribution, and sales of safe food. The company explained that it has a platform with optimal diagnostic and control technology to respond to food-hazardous microorganisms, and is developing new diagnostic technology based on bioinformatics and producing accurate diagnostic products and safe control products based on this. .

At this exhibition, Sanigen will exhibit ‘Genelix’, a rapid food poisoning bacteria detection kit. Sanigen emphasized that it is developing a high-accuracy molecular diagnostic kit by building a high-accuracy marker discovery platform based on Korea's largest food-poisoning bacteria genome sequence information database and food-poisoning bacteria bank. An official explained that because there is a detection limit with the general medium test method required to detect food poisoning, product development was carried out in line with the trend of changing to the genetic PCR method using DNA. In addition, through the brand and product, we aim to provide a total food safety solution, which is our ultimate goal, including HACCP certification due to rapid diagnosis and increased detection power, and thorough hygiene maintenance of food manufacturing and handling facilities.

The ‘ForLabs’ brand, which consists of sterilization bags, diluents, and swab products, is also introduced as essential laboratory sample handling tools. It was developed with a focus on convenience and holds a patent to minimize the possibility of cross-contamination, which is most important in sample handling, and to allow experimenters to conduct experiments conveniently. The sterilization bag can be selected from a variety of options, such as filters and easy cuts, to suit the needs of the experimenter, and the diluent is a product that minimizes work time and costs by shortening the cumbersome diluent manufacturing process. Swap is an all-in-one product that combines a PU material swab with excellent recovery rate, diluent, and dispensing port, allowing samples to be collected by swabbing and immediately dispensed onto the medium.

‘EasyPlate’, a dry film medium for microorganisms, is also introduced at this exhibition. It is a five-type film medium that can identify general bacteria, Escherichia coli, coliforms, Staphylococcus aureus, and yeast mold. It can be used conveniently as it does not require a separate press plate or hydration phenomenon that may occur with dry film. This medium uses the chromogenic principle and uses developmental substrates that react with each bacteria, resulting in different colors when cultured. This is a product developed by Kikkoman to conveniently and accurately check the presence of microorganisms while shortening the experiment time.

In addition, ‘Sanicare’ is a sanitary and safety control product line necessary for daily life created based on specialized microbiological diagnosis technology. Antibacterial hand sanitizer 'Sani Bubble Plus', alcohol hand sanitizer 'Saniup Hand Sanitizer', disinfectant 'Saniol' for sterilizing instruments, etc., 'Sani I', ice maker disinfectant, 'Sanipure (slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water) with excellent sterilizing power. )' etc. are all safe ingredients and are known to have the effect of powerfully sterilizing harmful bacteria.

Sanigen has been supplying Genelix, ForLabs, and EasyPlate to major domestic conglomerates, analytical institutes, and government offices, and is supplying the SaniCare product line to major domestic cafe franchises. In addition, we are expanding our overseas expansion in earnest starting in 2022, and plan to start exporting Genelix to Indonesia and expand to Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan.

A Sanigen official said, “In the case of the Genelix rapid molecular diagnostic kit, we develop, produce, and provide kits of the desired combination through customization kit development services. In addition, we are continuously developing diagnostic kits that can quickly and accurately detect relevant ingredients in line with food certification trends such as vegan, halal, GMO, and allergen,” he said. “Recently, kits that can check for all genetic modifications in soybeans, corn, and peaches are available. , launched a kit that can check allergens such as mackerel. “We are developing plans to develop new products that can continuously detect new modified genes,” he said.

He continued, “In the case of ForLabs, we recently launched an easy-cut type sterilization bag product to reflect consumer preferences, and we plan to develop and release wire-type sterilization bags and swabs of various buffer types.” “In addition, Cenizen plans to produce a variety of We provide educational services. By establishing professional instructors and a training center, we provide a variety of food safety training services tailored to the needs of our customers, including food hygiene, microorganisms, and food-related laws. “We expect that our training service will be of great help in responding to crises and conducting practical work in the field.”

Meanwhile, at AFRO 2023, Korea's largest agtech & foodtech event, domestic startups with global growth potential in the agtech, foodtech, and green bio fields will exhibit products and services to solve various problems in the agriculture and food industries. A variety of programs are held, including conferences and investment information sessions (IR competitions) to discuss the present and future of agtech and foodtech. This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, NH Nonghyup, COEX, and the Korea Food Tech Council.
