Characteristic
- PFGE treats microbial genomes with certain kinds of restriction enzymes to obtain DNA fragments of various sizes, and then compares them with electrophoresis to determine the homogeneity of each micro
- In general electrophoresis, it is difficult to distinguish large dna intercepts, so electrophoresis is performed using a pulsed-field.

Description
PFGE is a DNA fingerprinting method which discriminates bacterial strains based on their genomic DNA pattern generated by digestion with a restriction enzyme.
The method reveals genetic homology of bacterial strains.
In contrast to conventional gel electrophoresis can not separate the large size of DNA fragments, PFGE is able to resolve large DNA fragments up to 10 Mb.
Sanigen achieves Ministry of Food & Drug Safety (MFDS) R&D PFGE project.
Sanigen secures professional technique through performing the project.
